ALexa + Ladson
New Orleans = a 50/50 chance of rain on your second line parade. Alexa & Ladson’s ceremony was supposed to take place under the gorgeous living oaks in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. That week, we nervously monitored the forecast, because rain was predicted for their wedding day. Unfortunately, the forecast didn’t improve. After holding out hope until the last possible moment, I made the call to move the ceremony inside. Fortunately, the Great Hall in the New Orleans Museum of Art is an amazing ‘Plan B!’
The ceremony was stunning and the second line still served a purpose in moving guests from the ceremony space to the cocktail hour space. Since the ceremony moved indoors, the reception could not be set until after the ceremony, so we had to flip that space fast. It was an all hands on deck situation, and it was managed quickly and efficiently. My A-team vendors and the SSE staff worked together to make it happen. The reception doors opened on time and guests enjoyed the reveal. The soft pink lighting, blush linens and florals created a warm space, which made the Great Hall feel inviting and festive. And we were all happy to be indoors!
