MARGAUX + STEW
The Cabildo’s long gallery, with its gorgeous hardwood floors, is ideal for a ceremony. But it can get a little loud inside when Jackson Square’s street musicians are playing just outside the doors. So I paid them NOT to play during the 20-minute ceremony. As soon as it concluded, I cued the musicians and the party was on!
They were still playing as Margaux and Stew led a second-line parade to Bourbon Street and then the Presbytere, where 175 guests enjoyed a New Orleans-style reception featuring the Bucktown All-Stars. The Presbytere’s second floor Mardi Gras displays were perfect for Margaux and Stew, a fun, laid-back couple who love New Orleans and its traditions
