LAUREN + BEN
Rain is part of life in New Orleans. I always have a rain plan ready, but it is a little heartbreaking when a couple has spent a year planning the outdoor wedding of their dreams only to have weather work against them. Lauren + Ben wanted their ceremony to be in the beautiful courtyard of the Ritz-Carlton. Lauren’s face lit up every time we talked about it.
But the big day turned out to be rainy, super windy AND cold. So we had to pivot to Plan B and move the ceremony to an indoor ballroom. Part of my job is to help a disappointed bride transition into the acceptance phase of this sort of situation. Lauren carried on and had a sensational day. We dimmed the ballroom chandeliers, lit up a lush chuppah and lined the aisle with candles as a gorgeous, beaming bride married the love of her life.
